Only eight of the 188 male teams that enrolled for the Selati Super Cup this year are heading to the quarter fnals. With 180 teams are already out of the tournament, all eyes will have to see which ones bow before the Sweet Selati. Some are tasting it with the word of mouth, but through the 90 minute game will prove that. The 2010 Selati Super Cup dubbed “Iyanongotela6” is the sixth episode and is the most lucrative tournament in the Nkomazi region. Drama and glory has come and gone, but the most existing moments are the last eight and the semis of the Cup that are scheduled for this weekend. Although some of the favorite teams have bowed along the way, the 2007 Selati Cup Champs Junior Aces are still on the race. Also last week the notion that Selati Super is undefended has proved true when the defending Champions Shongwe Chiefs were shown an exit. Aces are going to meet with the pride of Mgobodzi, Mawewe Chiefs this Saturday, after a one nil win in a tough game against Buffelspruit All Blacks; Phiva Young Stars are going to face Dragon FC in the top 8. Mashaba United will be battling with the unstoppable Block-A Naughty Boys to get to taste the sweet Selati in the Semi fnals. KaMhlushwa Vultures who defeated the 2010 favorites and star studded Steenbok Classic on penalties will have to pave their way to the semis by playing Hhoyi Buccaneers. Nkomazi soccer lovers will converge at Naas stadium for the male quarter fnals and ladies semis will be at the open Field in Naas this Saturday. Speaking for the sponsors, TSB’s Kenneth Phiri acknowledged the enthusiasm shown by teams towards the 2010 Iyanongotela6. “It’s for the frst time that we had 188 registered male teams but that has not altered our schedules for the fnals or any games,” said Phiri. He also warned teams to behave during the quarter fnals and for the rest of the tournament. All the teams confrmed their mental and physical readiness for the games, but s the Selati Cup is unpredictable, only one team that will rise in the occasions, will be crowned the champs at the end.
