The Selati Su-per Cup has proved to be the only vehicle towards people’s unity. The tournament has brought together people from different places in one venue only to play and watch the panache displayed by soccer players in the tournament. Last weekend the tourna-ment saw soccer fanatics converging at different soccer ven-ues in the Nkomazi region. Some of the teams have proceeded to the last 32 of the tournament mean whilst oth-ers have bow. Last weekend also came as a shock to players and fanatics of Mzinti Young Waves as they were also shown an exit. Young Waves suffered a 3-2 defeat from the 2007 Selati Cup fnalists Mangweni Manchester. Again Mbokodo Wonderous paved their way to the next round by defeating Buffelspruit Home Defenders by 2-1. Star Studded Ndashe FC thrashed Buffelspruit Super Action by 2-0 at which a protest has been lodge by Super Action. To reach the last 32 of the tournament some of the teams were draw to play while others got luck to be on standby. This weekend Mawewe Chiefs will fght their way to the last 32 with Block C Blue Birds on Saturday. Shongwe Highlanders will play with the winner of the protest between Shongwe Chiefs and Boschfontein Eleven Men. The tournament’s coordinator Kenneth Phiri from the sponsor TSB Sugar said that all the game under protest will be decided by the disciplinary desk headed by Patson Mshele. “We have a disciplinary committee that is there to act when there’s a protest or anything that needs them in the tournament,” said Phiri. He also expressed the sponsor’s gratitude, “We are also happy about the behavior shown by teams, this shows that Nkomazi people have grown up to professional soccer lovers. Looking before we had many cases that were delaying the tournament’s schedules but now at least that is not habitually,” said Phiri.
