Masoyi’s female soccer giant, Flamingo, humil-iated Mzinti ladies FC by four goals to nil.  The ordeal un-
folded last Saturday at Mzinti where the two locked horns.  Mzinti ladies lost all of their frst round games, but re-
sumed on a positive note in the second round when they beat Schoemansdal Real Gun-ners two to nil in their open-
ing match.

The Flamingos came to play and with their strong efforts were able to score in the frst fve minutes.  Mzinti was un-able to score in the frst half and the game went to half time 1 to nil.  Although Fla-mingo has a few players playing for the national team, Banyana Banyana, Mzinti was able to hold the dangerous Masoyi outft up until the last min-utes of the game.  Flamingo’s master mind, Mampasha, memorized Mzin-
ti’s defense.
Flamingo was awarded by three consecutive goals, in the 78th and two in the 80th minutes of the game.
Mzinti ladies continued to fght and were awarded a penalty.
The team’s hopes lied on their star, Nompulelo Mabaso, who just took the goal easily. The game ended with the
score being 4 to 1, booking the Masoyi outft to second place in the log standing of the Sa-sol League.  Mzinti ladies
are in 7th place in the league standings.
“I know that we will not be relegated in from the league, but our main concern is to fn-ish in a good spot on the log,” said Mzinti ladies coach Pat-rick Ngomane.
He also accepted that the competition is very high for them, as they are newcomers in the highly competitive Sa-
sol league.
“As new comers, we feared a lot in the frst round.  Now we have gained courage and confdence and do not fear any team.
They have shown us their weak points and we will capi-talize on that,” added Ngo-mane.  Ngomane also joked that
most of the teams that are not from Nkomazi say there is a lot of muthi usage in Nkom-azi, causing them to fear Nk-omazi teams.
