Knp Unveils The 2010 Fifa Match Villages |

The Kruger National Park’s Manag-ing Executive, Mr Abe Sibiya formally unveiled the FIFA offcial accommo-dation plaque to highlight the park’s preparations for the 2010 FIFA World Cup at Skukuza Rest Camp today (Wednesday, January 27, 2010).
MATCH awarded KNP the plaques to mark the three camps i.e. Skukuza, Pretoriuskop and Berg en Dal as the MATCH offcial accommodation pro-viders for the 2010 soccer world cup visitors from 11 June to 11 July 2010. “As we unveil the plaque today, we want to believe that it will remain as a reminder to our staff and visitors from now until the end of the World Cup, to the effect that we have com-mitted ourselves as KNP to serving the 2010 FIFA World Cup visitors who will come to this country”, said Mr Sibiya in his key note address. Mr Sibiya updated local members of the media and KNP staff members on the park’s current preparations for the 2010 World Cup in areas such as accommodation renovations in all camps, safety and security issues, di- saster management plans, activities and entertainment, local community development opportunities which will be available in the park during the soccer tournament. He further urged staff members to honour this signifcant gesture, Mr Sibiya indicated that the KNP is an acclaimed world famous organization and by implication, should be able to provide world class service as ex- pected by both local and international tourists. “Irrespective of which area of re-sponsibility you are in, please ask yourselves what your contributions are going to be during the World Cup, see to it that you do your bit and aim to enhance the image and reputation of the country and that of the orga-nization you work for; this should go beyond the 2010 FIFA World Cup”; concluded Mr Sibiya.
