The Nkomazi mayoral Cup is heading to the finals this weekend, between Langeloop City Movers and Block A Naughty Boys. Nkomazi Voice’s Mandla Khoza interviewed some of the Nkomazi’s well-known coaches about the game.
Innocent Mdaka (Above), former KaMhlushwa Vultures and current provincial assistant coach: “For me it’s hard to predict, in this point of time luck for each team can prevail and that can lead to them winning the game. But tactical both teams are hard to beat. But for now Movers have no consistent ball players and while Naughty Boys have those young boys who can play the ball to an extent that Movers’ defense can make a mistake and get punished.” Cleopas Mjoli- Mangweni Manchester head coach: “What will make each team win is mentality and experience. Naughty Boys are the best this moment, having thrashed Mangweni Manchester and LTD they have got confidence. Although it won’t be just a walk in the park for Naughty Boys, Movers are one of the teams with experienced players and that may hinder the inexperienced approach of Naughty Boys. Naughty Boys are to win as they came as under dogs and they humiliated the so called big teams and that is worth a championship for them. Now they don’t have pressure and they also have nothing to fear.”
Luke Shabangu (Above) - Mangweni LTD head coach: “My blessings goes to Naughty Boys. I believe they have an upper hand when it come to scoring goals. Irrespective of them playing in the promotional league, but their ball is very professional, disciplined at the back, fighting upfront and solid Middlefield that what makes them to win games. Having faced them in the quarter finals I believe they are capable to disappoint Movers in the finals. The ways their players gel in the middle field makes me to give them my word. One of the things that will make naughty Boys twin is that they don’t have one player who’s scoring goals although one by the name of Moses Sono is shaper, but other players like, Hlahla Jabulani and Shabangu Skhumbuzo can do the job.” Moses Sono is a player to watch in the finals on Saturday 16 January.
One of the Cups female favorite teams, Real Gunners.
