Priest Arrested for Selling Dagga
21 May 2010

MZINTI - A 47 year old Zionist priest was arrested last Sunday for selling dagga. Elias Manikela was found with dagga filling half of a 25 kg maize meal bag in Mzinti village. Police alleged that the man who is hiding with the bible is selling the dagga. Tonga police spokesperson Mzwandile Nyambi said the dagga is valued at more than R3000.

Manikela briefly appeared last Monday at the Tonga magistrate court. It is alleged that the priest is planting the dagga and is also getting it from friends in Swaziland. Villagers blew the whistle when they say a number of dagga smoking young boys visiting the Manikela’s house. “We then launched an investigation that proved that Manikela is selling dagga,” said Nyambi. Nyambi said that Manikela will appear this Friday for a formal bail application.
