Truck Loses Breaks and Causes Chaos
19 February 2010

Three people cheated death last week.  A truck, a tractor and a state ve-hicle from the depart-ment of health collided
in Driekoppies causing chaos.
According to bystand-ers, the truck and tractor were following each other coming from the Driekop-pies direction when the truck lost breaks and collided with an oncom-ing department of health bakkie.

The driver of the bakkie says he managed to escape the truck, but was moved from the road to the other side of Mlu-mati Bridge. The truck was forced into the back of the trac-tor and went into the wa-ter.
The driver of the trac-tor sustained minor in-juries, but the driver of the truck was seriously injured.
It took most of the weekend for the truck to be removed from the wa-ter.
A case of reckless driv-ing has been opened against the driver of the truck. A case of driving a road unworthy vehicle
has also been opened against the truck owner.Schoemansdal police station’s spokesper-son Consta-ble Nompilo
Qwabe warns truck and trac-tor owners to keep their ve-hicles road wor-thy, as that will prevent such accidents on
the road.
