Farmers show mob Justice

Buffelspruit-  Farmers of Sil-wanendlala farming project prac-ticed mob justice on a man ] who
allegedly stole their mealies.  On 12 February Mtondzeki Sibiya was caught stealing maize.

He allegedly
stole the maize in a bakkie he hired and sold it at Matsamo plaza and in Schoemansdal.  He confessed to the mob that he sometimes made R800 a day.The farmers took jus-tice into their own hands and beat Mtondzeki.  Sizabantu Sibiya and
Pawula Mhlongo came to Mton-dzeki’s rescue during the beating and took him from the mob to the police station, where he was taken to the clinic.

The farmers reported the matter to Buffelspruit headman Philmon Mhlongo to open a case so that the community tribal council can help in sorting out the problem.  Mtondzeki is now admitted to Shongwe Hospital
