| Police Donate to the Needy |

BLOCK C- With winter moving in, Tonga Police took a stand and donated shoes to children at Dumezizweni preschool last Friday. “As police we are fighting against child abuse and we took it upon ourselves to make sure the kids are not different from the others,” said the Tonga police station communications officer Sergeant Mzwandile Nyambi. Nyambi explained that the police asked social workers to identify needy children. The police station asked for donations and people responded positively. The children benefited greatly from the generosity of the community. The Tonga police station lectured the children on how to report to their parents or caregivers if they are being abused. They children were also give the police toll free numbers to use if they are abused. Speaking on behalf of the pre-school, Evah Khoza could not hide her happiness on the say. Khoza appreciated the generous donations. Community policing forum member Stanley Madonesela encouraged the police to keep donating to needy children throughout Nkomazi. He mentioned that some children stop schooling because of a uniform shortage. “As police we will try by all means to make sure the little ones are safe and are at school,” concluded Nyambi.
