A couple from the UK, Mr. and Mrs. Whittaker, were planning a holiday in South Africa and paid a deposit on their trip. After a sudden illness, the couple could no longer come to South Africa. Instead of asking for their money back, they requested that it be donated to a local NGO.

Virgin Holidays decided to double the money, leaving THBC with a 13 000 Rand donation. Thompsons Tours has a three country tour where they stop at THBC to give tourists an idea the issues facing Nkomazi. The Whittaker couple was planning on taking this tour, and wanted the money to benefit the Nkomazi community.
