Buffelspruit- Mr. Johan Mabuza was very much in love with the girl who he thought would be his wife. He asked his father to pay labola for the woman. Everything was planed and his in-laws accepted the sum of R9 000.00. After he paid labola, his wife went to study computers and Mabuza paid her school fees.

Priest Moyimoyi Nkosi, the father of the bride to be, ordered his son in-law not to see his daughter again and his daughter not to visit Mabuza until they get married.

Mabuza said, “to my surprise I heard that my wife to be has another fiancé who had also paid labola too. I then asked for the assistance of a local pastor to help me get my money back. After, I reported the mater to the local tribal council.”

According to Mabuza, the priest was ordered to return the R 9 000, but not for her school fees. In addition, the tribal council fined Mabuza R 1 000 for asking a local pastor for help before reporting the matter to his father. The priest was also fined R 500 for his mischief.

“I’m not emotionally abused by my in-laws and my former lover. I can’t even go around because of this. They have affected my love life. It’s now going to take me a long time to trust a female and inlaws to be,” expressed Mabuza.
