Going to the hospital or clinic often leaves people feeling frustrated and angry. They sometimes complain that they don’t know what is wrong with them and that the nurses and doctors are not very good. This may not be the case. Follow these steps and you will leave the hospital and clinic feeling more informed and positive about your experience. When you first go into the hospital or clinic, remember to be understanding. The nurses and doctors work very hard, and are doing the best they can with limited resources. Also remember that other patients may be rude or worse to the hospital staff and so they might be tired from it. If you are nice to them, even if they are being rude to you, their attitude will change. Be polite, friendly, and nice, and you will be treated in the same way by the hospital staff. When the nurse or doctor is asking you questions, remember to tell the truth even if you are scared to. What you tell them will influence what they think you have. If you lie, you may not receive the right treatment and will not get better. It is important to ask questions before you leave the clinic or hospital. There are five questions you must ask that the doctor or nurse should be able to answer.
By following these steps and asking these questions, the nurses and doctors will be able to treat you effectively, and empower you with the knowledge that you need to take care of yourself. More importantly, you will have a positive experience. |
