• Eat more fruits and vegetables and less fatty foods. • Quit smoking! • Visit the doctor or clinic when you begin feeling sick, instead of waiting. • Drink more water and less sugary drinks. • Don’t use as much salt. Instead flavour your food with fresh herbs and garlic. • Be faithful to your partner. • Limit your time in the sun to protect your skin from being damaged. • Offer assistance to someone in your community who is sick or needy. • Drive safely! Use your safety belt and follow the rules of the road. • Wash your hands more often. • Test for HIV! Know your status. After you test, encourage family and friends to test too! • Have your blood pressure taken. • Go to the dentist. • Laugh more. • Learn about illnesses that affect your community. Knowledge is power. • Exercise more to reduce your risks for heart disease and obesity. • Get enough sleep each night to feel better each day. • Protect yourself against mosquitoes and malaria. • Take de-worming pills every 6th months. • Condomize. Protect your self from STIs, including HIV. |
