TONGA - Tonga police’s attempts to stop the green Nissan Sentra they were chasing after didn’t yield any result on Thursday. The vehicle was reported to have been carrying suspects who are believed to be injecting poison into oranges which they allegedly gave to children along the streets. Tonga police spokesperson, Captain Rose Qwabe said the suspect’s car was running very fast heading to Malalane that they couldn’t find it. Captain Qwabe said the car began to disappear between Mzinti and KaMhlushwa. “Because of its high speed we have failed to even memorize the registration numbers,” she said. Asked if police believed that there were some poisoned oranges, Captain Qwabe said they were responding to the public outcry when a man stormed into their offices claiming that there was the alleged car on the road. “We have just chased after the car and haven’t seen any poisoned oranges,” she confessed.
