KOMATIPOORT - A man has been arrested by police in connection with attempted murder of a security guard. The incident took place on Thursday last week when a security guard from a company based in Komatipoort was allegedly shot and left unhurt. The suspect is said to have been aided by his three accomplices who are still at large.

Komatipoort Police spokesman, Constable Richard Khumalo, said the entire ordeal ensued when the suspects ordered the victim to remove his cap and when he refused, rain of bullets were then shot to the guard. The arrested man appeared before the Komatipoort Periodical Court on the following day of the arrest. He was facing a charge of attempted murder. Police are still looking for the man’s accomplices and community members were requested to call the police for more details which could lead to the men’s arrests.
