MDLADLA - Three men, aged between 23 and 27 years, were arrested by Tonga police on Friday night. The suspects were found in possession of stolen property including DVDs, a video machine, amplifier, 3 cellphones and a bicycle. The men were apprehended and taken to the Tonga police by the local community policing forum members. It is alleged that the suspects were looking for a dealer to buy the stolen property when the arrest took place. After the arrests were made the legitimate owners of the property were identified. The men’s first appearance was on Monday this week when they were charged with a case of possession of stolen property, theft and housebreaking charges. The alleged culprits could not afford the bail amount due to financial difficulties and so they were remanded back to police custody. |
