What is up with Telkom? 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Word on the street is that Thembalethu Home _base_d Care (THBC) has been attempting to provide Mpumalanga Residents with high-speed Internet access for over 4 months. What is the reason for this long lasting impediment in providing the Nkomazi Region with reliable Internet access? Telkom, the “leader in South African Telecommunications”

On March 20, 2007, THBC ordered an SSE512 Satellite System. Since then Telkom has only provided a plethora of excuses and delays, while simultaneously avoiding their core responsibility of providing Internet access. THBC has relentlessly pursued Telkom to no avail, as their efforts have proved futile due to Telkom’s alarming degree of ineptitude.

When will this unacceptable treatment end? Where are you Telkom?

THBC are not the only ones who have to deal with this type of treatment from telkom, as a matter of fact nothing about telkom can ever surprise me. what we need is for icasa to introduce competition for telkom, in a way rescuing us, especially marginalised communities such as nkomazi, from the illtreatment we're receiving from these capitalists. i don't mean to be too subjective, but having to rely on telkom alone was a bad idea from the onset, and now icasa is dragging its feet with the licencing of other service providers. neotel itself was supposed to be in the picture by now, but who can tell us why they're not giving telkom a run for their money already?
