MANGWENI- Maria Ngobeni (36) was evicted from Mangweni by community members on Saturday.
This follows allegations that the suspect murdered a one year three months old baby. Some people believe that she bewitched the baby while some believe that she poisoned her. “My daughter was playing with two other children on Wednesday midday. Then the suspect called the three of them and entered her “indumba”. She gave an orange to my daughter and gave a grapefruit to the other two babies. She then asked them to leave. My baby was fine after that but she died on the following day” said Elvis Mkhabela father of the deceased. The community members suspected Ngobeni because she was previously accused of being a baby killer at Bhodlindlala. Community members didn’t waste anytime in going to investigate Ngobeni. In front of everybody she allegedly confessed that she killed the baby through witchcraft and they evicted her. “My wife confessed that she is a witch in front of the community members. She agreed that she killed the baby through witchcraft. She told them that she inserted her witchcraft stuff in the orange that she gave to the baby. I don’t want her back anymore” said Amos Sithole (40) who was the husband of the killer. The baby killer allegedly moved to another village around Nkomazi region. Mzwandile Nyambi spokes person of Toga police station warns the community not to take the law into their own hands but they should call the police if something is suspicious. |
