According to the church this event is where all members of St. Johns church from all over the continent meet to pray and thank God. The church is divided into circuits and the one in Driekoppies represents the Lowveld region. David Mandlenkosi Malangwane, who is an evangelist in the Lowveld, said this year’s function was very successful. “We invited all the circuits and they responded by sending delegates from Swaziland, Gauteng, Mozambique and many places around South Africa.“ “We invited all the circuits and they responded by sending delegates from Swaziland, Gauteng, Mozambique and many places around South Africa. Because this church cares about sick people they came in numbers and received treatment and prayers,” said Malangwane. “And if you look at many people in this church they did not just become members but most of them first came because they were sick and after being healed they decided to join the church,” Malangwane added. Villagers of Driekoppies were amazed on Sunday morning when the Nhlazatje brass band marched around the streets causing everybody to leave what they were doing and join the parade as they marched together till Sunday afternoon when the service ended. |
