MDLADLA- Local communities will no longer have to travel any further to do their shopping. A shopping complex will be built between KaMdladla and KaMhlushwa next year. The shopping complex will consist of various businesses such as supermarkets, furniture shops, filling station, liquor store, clothing shop and banks. The Department of Land Affairs is overseeing this. A few weeks ago some of the Department of Land Affairs members attended a meeting with the KaMdladla community where the development was discussed. The presence of officials from the Department of Land Affairs was meant to facilitate a community resolution giving the developers the right to erect the plaza. The community unanimously resolved that the plaza should be constructed next to the Mdladla B motor spares and taxi rank. According to a member of the community, the project will start next year before June. A comment from the Department of Land Affairs could not be sourced as officials are reportedly barred from talking to the media. Sources have revealed that the plaza was supposed to have been built in 2005 but unforeseen circumstances stood on the way.
