Image MDLADLA - Since the department of education in Ehlanzeni region promised to renovate ten destructed classes at Mdladla primary school nothing has been done to the school. The classes were demolished by a heavy cyclone which nearly claimed lives of people in October last year. Some learners are learning under the destructive classes and they have moved out from those demolished classes. Preliminary findings showed that the said cyclone damaged four classes very bad and 6 were also affected. The department promised to renovate ten classes.

The school headmistress, Sibongile Sambo said she recently received a letter that stated that renovation is about to take place in the school in June but the promises were not kept. “I received a letter on June from the circuit manager. The letter stated that the renovation is on process to take place,” said Sambo. The circuit manager, Oubaas Bhiya said that everything has procedures and even the departments of education have the procedures maybe they are still looking forward to renovate the school.

“At the moment I don’t know what delays the renovation of Mdladla primary school. But I think that as long as Mdladla primary school belongs to the local government the classes will be renovated, no matter how long it will take. The principal of the school must not worry maybe the school renovation is still on process “said Bhiya during the interview. Finally he said he will task himself to know what is going on about the school.
