Schoemansdal- It is easy to pronounce his name ‘Kelly’, but understanding his mind is not that easy. You have to be very sharp and even be careful whenever you are talking to him. Kelly is a Grade R learner at Liberty Primary School. This young boy is very inquisitive and whenever there is something he does not understand he asks a question. He is 5 years old and at his age he can speak a number of languages that include English, French, Portuguese, Shangaan, Siswati and Swahili. This leaves many young children of his age, and even the older ones, in great awe because they do not comprehend how he is doing it. The teachers are happy to have a child like him since this is not a usual thing. “When the young boy came to our school some months ago we did not know that he can speak many languages. He is fluent in almost all the languages but when it comes to English he is exceptionally great. The boy has a clear mind and you can only notice that when he answers a question. He expresses himself with soundness of mind and very well,” said teacher Jane. What Kelly is doing is not only surprising his fellow learners and siblings, but also his parents. “I pray to God that he becomes a Christian when he grows up because his mind is too quick and fast. Whatever you teach him he grabs it there and then. If he can become anything else other than that I do not know, only the lord knows,’ expressed his mother.
