BUFELSPRUIT - Ebuhleni Holiness Union Church held a fundraising concert last Saturday in Buffelspruit. The fundraising concert was conducted by one of the best South African gospel musicians, Hlengiwe Mhlaba. According to one of the church’s stewards, Miss Pumzile Mnisi, the fundraising was aimed to finish the church’s structure, including roofing. “We saw that if we bring a top artist our fundraising will be a success. People will come for the artist, while we charge them for entering,” said Mnisi.
The church saw entrances of people from as far as Nelspruit and also giving the word of God was Pastor Nigros Manana from Ligwalagwala FM.

Schoemansdal- It is easy to pronounce his name ‘Kelly’, but understanding his mind is not that easy. You have to be very sharp and even be careful whenever you are talking to him. Kelly is a Grade R learner at Liberty Primary School. This young boy is very inquisitive and whenever there is something he does not understand he asks a question. He is 5 years old and at his age he can speak a number of languages that include English, French, Portuguese, Shangaan, Siswati and Swahili. This leaves many young children of his age, and even the older ones, in great awe because they do not comprehend how he is doing it. The teachers are happy to have a child like him since this is not a usual thing. “When the young boy came to our school some months ago we did not know that he can speak many languages. He is fluent in almost all the languages but when it comes to English he is exceptionally great. The boy has a clear mind and you can only notice that when he answers a question. He expresses himself with soundness of mind and very well,” said teacher Jane. What Kelly is doing is not only surprising his fellow learners and siblings, but also his parents. “I pray to God that he becomes a Christian when he grows up because his mind is too quick and fast. Whatever you teach him he grabs it there and then. If he can become anything else other than that I do not know, only the lord knows,’ expressed his mother. |

Boys of Christ was established in 2003 June by two young people from Schoemansdal, Martin Mavuso and Raymond Willis.
According to Muntu Mathebula the group spokesperson, the main aim for establishing the group was to preach the word of God through music.
They then released their first debut album titled “Singumlilo KaJehova” back in 2004. The boys didn’t stop there, instead they followed with another hot sizzling album titled “Dwala Lami” which was recorded and released last year.
“We are looking forward to release another album early next year,” said the group spokes person.
On the day the group also awarded the workaholic members of the group with medals and trophies.
People who support the gospel singing group by transport and other musical equipment also were rewarded for their support and loyalty.
People like the Executive Mayor of the Nkomazi sub-region, Johan Mavuso, clr. Mogale, Rev. A.B. Vilakazi and Mrs. Zodwa Thwala both from V.O.C and Lungile “Sibukubukwana” Mango from Ligwalagwala FM were also there to witness the celebration.
“This is a good thing to do, more specially by the youth,” said Johan Mavuso. Both of their albums are available at any music shop around South Africa and Swaziland.
The music is available in CD’s, DVD and cassettes.
They also invited people who want them at any occasion like funerals or weddings for free to contact Muntu Mathebula on 072 316 9260 or Mbongeni Shongwe on 072 212 8306.

NELSPRUIT – Four Nkomazi police detectives had been awarded with certificates of exceptional performance in the arrest and prosecution of suspects last week. Eleven police detectives from eight police stations in the province were also awarded during the event that was held at MRTT near Nelspruit. “This is a quarterly event that was established earlier this year aiming to motivate and boost the morale of police members who are on a daily basis confronted by serious challenges of gruesome crime scenes and difficult decisions to make,” said the Mpumalanga police spokesperson Superintendent Sibongile Nkosi. Nkosi said that Mpumalanga police management wants to acknowledge their good jobs. “Though we acknowledge that whilst we are awarding these good police and on the other hand we still have corrupt officials within our rank,” she said. “As a management, we send a strong message to those corrupt police officers who continue taking bribes and stealing exhibits from police store rooms that they will be dealt with harshly,” said Nkosi. Constable Stella Mkansi, of Acornhoek police station, who was the only female detective awarded said she thanked the whole team that is behind her successes. “I am happy to represent detective women in the province for this quarter, this came to me as a surprise because I didn’t think there are people recognizing what I am doing on a daily basis,” she said. Constable Mkansi said being a detective police is challenging because you are faced with difficulties when investigating serious crime cases. Mkansi encourages other female police to take charge of being investigators. “I know it’s not easy but there is no job that belongs to men in our country,” she said. The other detectives are: Inspector Puleng Aphane of organized crime unit in Middelburg, Inspector Danie Theron Water Wing in Ehlanzeni district, Inspector Louis Stander of Malalane police station, Sergeant Johannes van der Westhuizen known as Inspector JR and Constable Phineas Mathabela both from Hectorspruit dog unit near Malalane, Inspector Thomas Mabuza of Tonga police station, Sergeant Joseph Nkosi and his younger brother Mandla Nkosi both from Machadodorp police station, Inspector Humphrey Mokoena and Constable Lincho Motubatse both from Masoyi police station. They were awarded for investigating cases ranging from murders, rapes, armed robberies, house robberies, live saving and possession of drugs.
